The sweet smell of Vacation!!

Did I say my life couldn't get any better??? Well I was wrong! Remember I went away to camp while my foster family went on vacation? Guess what?! This time I got to go on vacation too... we went to the beach! I saw my first sunrise - yep we still get up really early for our walks... some things never change.

It smells very different here and there is hardly any grass! Everyone has rocks in their yard - it feels so weird to walk on, but I'm already getting used to it. Who really cares because there is the softest playground ever! There's loud crashing water that startled me at first and there are lots of flying birds. Once I saw the birds, nothing else mattered. I think I like the bay better and I don't know what boats are, but they look like they'd be fun too.

One thing I know for sure is I LOVE vacation!

My Visit to Aqua Dog

I've got a very active life here with rescue. So active that all my posts aren't even showing! Make sure if you want to see what I've been update to here in rescue, you visit my Older Posts too!!

My foster mom and some of the other volunteers thought a visit to Aqua Dog, sort of like a gym for dogs, would help me to strengthen the muscles in my rear legs. I personally thought I looked rather lean, but I guess the "buff" look is in these days. I had an examine and my foster mom learned about some at home exercises and special walks we can do to help, and then I got to go into "the tank". I had no idea what "the tank" was, but boy did I enjoy myself. Walking in a bath of really warm water with a very nice lady who gave me tons of encouragement and a treat here and there.... I don't know if my life can get any better!!!

A few more visits and help and encouragement from my foster mom and I'm going to be one hot stud!

My Vacation

Camp has been fun and I even have visitors. I've met more people from the group that saved me and the people that work here really love me and give me extra special attention.

One of my visitors comes regularly and she does some "training" with me. Wait until my foster mom gets a load of me and finds out all she needs to do to keep up with what I've been learning. We are working on all kinds of things - sit (which I'm a master at), down, leave it, take it, stay, wait and off. We try these commands in different places around camp just to be sure I remember I'm supposed to know how to do them anytime I'm asked no matter where we are.

My foster mom, dad and doggie brother and sister came for a visit one day with the trainer to make sure everyone was on the same page. Then after we worked really hard, they took me for a walk. We found this pen of pigeons - my foster mom doesn't want me to say I have great hunting potential, but boy did I find it interesting. My foster brother saw it first, but I quickly found what he was staring at - they smelled really good! Who knows.... maybe I'll be a hunter too! Hey - just because I'm 9 doesn't mean I can't learn new stuff!

My Vacation

So today my foster family was heading away. They had an event this weekend and then next week they leave for a vacation. I get to go on vacation too - I can hardly wait. I was so excited this morning. I rushed our walk and scoffed down breakfast hoping we'd get on the road early. My foster mom told me I'm going to "camp" for 3 weeks! There are supposed to be other dogs there, playtime and lots of R&R. I can hardly contain myself.

My foster mom is going to take my picture when we arrive so she can share it with you. I think I'm going to be pretty busy, but if I have time, I'll send an update while I'm away; otherwise, I be back in touch as soon as we're all back...

Now that I'm feeling better.....

Life is good again. I got a bath and I'm a pretty spiffy fella if I do say so myself... Now that I'm better, I can come inside and be part of the family. There is some strange stuff in here. I found a dog that looks just like me, but it's on the wall - WEIRD! I like a nice sunny spot to rest and a tennis ball to chomp on and I'm good.

I'm still adjusting to life here. There are lots of rules and plenty of routines. I used to love to eat the same food as my family - here that's not allowed. Can you believe, if I try to eat off at plate from the table, I get in trouble. Who knew?! I like the two dogs that live here and it's nice because they are older so I get to do what I want. They play with their toys and I play with mine. I'm not sure if I'd want to share. Probably if they wanted to, that would be another "rule" I'd have to follow - luckily for me it's a non-issue. We are still up at 5am for a walk and I'm exhausted by 9pm - so you know the saying... early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise... Well I'm sure healthy, I feel pretty fortunate that I'm here and I'm learning if I want to stick around, I better follow the rules.

A Quick Note

I'm beginning to feel better - only thing now is I have this sneezy/snotty thing going on, not to mention this silly thing I have to wear. Man I just can't catch a break. Luckily after another trip to the vet, the stuff I'm already taking to make me feel better will help with this too so even though I'm sneezing, I'm still on the mend - PHEW! But boy does my nose itch - a good grass scratch really does the trick!

Bummed Out....

Bad news!!! Something happened and I don't feel so good. Maybe it was too much fun yesterday, but last night I was cranky and this morning I was out of it, shaking and even getting sick (so embarrassing). I think the "fixin" the shelter did, didn't go exactly as planned... Luckily my foster parents really care about me because they called their vet and he made a special trip in just to meet me.

I'm sick! I have a high temperature and an infection brewing - oh man, what a bummer!!! I was having so much fun too! Anyhow, now I have to take it easy and get better. I'll be off line for now (no pictures for this blog since I'm not looking my best), but I'll check back in as soon as I'm feeling better.... stay tuned.

Things are Looking Up!

I'm feeling much perkier today even though we got up at 5am again... seems like we have a pattern going on here... it's ok, I like a routine. I'm a good walker so I guess my foster mom can't wait to get me up and out to show me off. Today my foster parents were busy and I hear they have plans tonight, so they wanted to be sure I had enough action to be tired while they were busy.

I spent much of my afternoon in the yard with the two other dogs here. One looks like me and the other, well she's pretty, but she looks different. At first I was very curious about them, but then we all just did our own thing - my thing is playing. I really like being with my foster mom because she likes to play with me too.

Day 2 Update

Where am I? That's what I was wondering when someone woke me up at 5am, put a leash on me and took me for a walk. Wow were the smells different from what I'm used to - I came from a city area. Here there's lots of grass, trees and wildlife - so much to take in and I'm still not feeling at my best.

The morning walk was tough, but we did a few others during the day. We even visited this place and I found a tennis ball. I got to show my foster mom just how playful I can be. She had no idea, at 9, I'd still be so much fun... I caught her a little off guard with my enthusiasm and she dropped her camera... let's just say another one is in the mail and on it's way!

You know what? There are two other dogs that live here. I got to meet them a for a short time tonight. They are older than me, but they seem to like me so far. I'm sure we'll be pals soon enough. Since I'm still tired and today was filled with lots of new experiences, I hit the hay early...

Introducing Me!

Hi everyone, I'm Pupeeto - my formal name is Tiger, but no one calls me that. My owner got ill and her daughter, my sister, didn't have the space or time to care for me so off to the shelter I went. I didn't know what a shelter was, but boy was I scared when I got there. Luckily so was my sister - after dropping me off she emailed rescue immediately and they saved me - PHEW. I only had to stay one night in that place, but I'll remember it forever and feel sad for the others left behind...

The shelter got me all set with my vetting and "fixed" me right up - I don't know what kind of fixin they did, but I sure didn't feel good. I was picked up soon after my surgery, brought to a new home and I don't remember much more from that night. I was really out of it, but the family at the home was happy to meet me, looked me over and decided to take advantage of my subdued stated with a nail trimming... Here they don't use a clipper and instead this thing that makes a noise and needs to be plugged in, a dremmel or something. Anyhow, they covered my head so I wouldn't have to watch. Didn't really matter because I slept through it all. This was my first night and I'm sure glad to be here.
